Week 4

I read the Jack Cole and Plastic Man and found it very interesting. I felt like, the concept and the drawings of Plastic man were actually rather creepy. Ironically though, when I was a kid my first imaginary friend was called Plastic Girl and I'd never read this comic before. So, that resonated with me, even if the visuals in this comic are a little disturbing to look at. I did find the character of Plastic Man interesting though, the super power would be incredibly useful, as Plastic Man is able to not only stretch himself to the limits but he can stretch and mold his face into different faces. As a super hero, I'm sure that would ability comes in handy for going undercover, stealth and not being flocked by the general public.

I also read the a comic by Carl Banks called "Have Gun, Will Dance." It was naturally a very funny comic, as to be expected, being a Donald Duck comic. I was a great comic to read, to see the comic version of this time old cartoon and I was immediately interested because of this. I was interested to see how much dialog was used however, I personally prefer more images to dialog when reading comic books, as it allows me to read them quicker and I'm a more visual learner. I can get the jist of of what is going on in a comic with a nice clear image better then with a lot of dialog. Not to say that a lot of writing is bad, I love reading, but dialog doesn't often paint a picture like a descriptive body of text.  But it was a good comic none-the-less.
