This week I read American Born Chinese, because I found the title intriguing as it seemed to have a very interesting story to tell. I was curious what type of story this comic would tell about a foreigner who was born in a country that is not their races origin. There were three different tales in this comic and the one I found the most interesting, was the story of Jin. It was pretty sad to so the harshness of the stereotypes and his daily struggles against them. The part that I enjoyed the most about it though, was his crush on Amelia, as it was very touching and I liked that she didn't let the cultural differences change her opinions about Jin, unlike their other classmates. The other tales were about Chinese folk lore and kung-fu which were nice additions and gave interesting incite into the cultural aspects of China. I also really enjoyed the art of this comic, I really love simplistic styles and this one was particular nice to look at.
